New Zealand work visas allow holders to work legally in New Zealand. There are several work visa types available depending on the applicant’s circumstances and objectives. A work visa is often a critical stepping stone on the pathway to New Zealand residence.
Visa Types
- Post-Study Work Visa: An open work visa available after completing study in New Zealand.
- AEWV (Accredited Employer Work Visa): Introduced in July 2022 to replace the former Essential Skills work visa, the AEWV is now the primary employer-sponsored work visa.
- Partner Work Visa: Partners of AEWV or other work visa holders may apply for an open work visa.
- Specific Purpose Work Visa: Visas for specific work purposes, such as sports coaches or athletes, religious workers, entertainment industry professionals, and Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) workers.
