Immigration & Visa

Settle in one of the most beautiful countries in the world and start a new chapter.

New Zealand’s Family Category visas allow family members of New Zealand citizens or residents to immigrate to New Zealand. These visas are based on family relationships, with the aim of reuniting families to live together in New Zealand.

Visa Types

  • Partner Visa: Partners of New Zealand citizens or residents may apply for a residence visa.
  • Parent Category: New Zealand citizens or residents can sponsor their parents for immigration.
  • Dependent Child: Dependent children (under 24, unmarried, and financially dependent) of New Zealand citizens or residents may apply for residence.
  • Sibling / Adult Child: Under specific conditions, siblings or adult children of New Zealand citizens or residents may apply for residence (very limited places available).

Eligibility Requirements

  • The sponsor must be a New Zealand citizen or hold a residence visa
  • The sponsor must meet a minimum income threshold
  • The sponsor must have resided in New Zealand for a qualifying period
  • The applicant must meet health and character requirements
  • Genuine evidence of the family relationship must be provided

Application Process

  1. Eligibility Assessment — Confirm whether the sponsor and applicant meet the relevant criteria
  2. Gather Relationship Evidence — Marriage certificate, birth certificate, proof of relationship, etc.
  3. Sponsor Income Assessment — Verify that the sponsor’s income meets the threshold
  4. Submit Application — Via EOI or direct application (depending on the category)
  5. Await Processing — Family category applications typically have longer processing times
  6. Approval and Reunion — Reunite with your family in New Zealand
